What The Fug Happened?!

HAPPY 100TH POST TO ME!

1. We just celebrated our 15th month anniversary and this is by far my favorite picture of us. Swagtastic. // 2. Guess what the color palette of that day was? I'm also loving my new deck of cards. // 3. Blade and chalice; yin and yang. Life needs balance but love, above all, is everything. // 4. Spent my day frolicking around BF Parañaque with my clique. The photo diary needs to be posted, asap. // 5. Latest sunnies to add to my collection! Thanks Banggood! // 6. Black Friday ootd // 7. My basic outfit for the days I feel lazy to think. // 8. Zark's Burgers at BF Par!! This burger is called the Jawbreaker. 3 patties, spam, cheese, bacon.. DAMN. Told you I need to post the photo diary soon! // 9. My daily makeup hehe so fancyyy

To tell you frankly, I have been feeling uninspired lately. Days and nights of staring at my computer screen having mental blocks are becoming frequent. I know I have copious amounts of backlogs to post and I feel genuinely disappointed that my promise to myself  of posting at least once a week isn`t going as planned. Yup, the so-called "writer`s block" is happening to me.

On the other hand, I'`ll be at the Blogapalooza 2014 this Saturday, October 11th at SM Aura, BGC! So to my Philippine-based readers and co-bloggers, I hope to see you there! What's happening with your life these days? x

♡ FIRST ANNIVERSARY ♡

This post is exactly a month late so, happy 13 months, babe! ♥

Joko and I went to the Philippine National Museum for our first anniversary (redundancy at its finest) and I have to say that it wasn`t your typical romantic date but we managed to make every little bit of the day as lovely as possible. Warning! Photo heavy post.. and this is just the first part.

SKY AND SPRINGS

There is something fulfilling about finding clothes you used to wear as a 9 year old kid, fitting them, and surprisingly, still fit you.

I have quite a few items in my closet that I own since I was a little girl: shirts that became crop tops, jeans that I made into shorts, and this is one of those dresses that used to be considered midis, but are now minis. In case you were wondering, I was a huge kid all my life. Losing weight gave me more confidence and wardrobe options, hence the reason why the cut on this sky blue number used to be on my waist, now I`m wearing it as a baby doll.

LUCID RIOT x BARRIERS

Last night, I went to iAcademy`s party to kickoff the year: Lucid Riot. The whole venue had numerous booths, all amongst neon and black lights, illuminating every urbanite`s colorful outfits. There were several performances by their music org, a couple of dance troupes (which in my shame, forgot their names. I`m sorry.) and Barriers. More photos under the cut!

WHAT`S IT LIKE DATING A MUSICIAN

Being together for almost a year (we`re celebrating our first anniversary on July 6th!) has led me to believe that I completely understand how musicians — or at least my boyfriend — think. So I wrote this in the hopes of having it published in an online magazine but luck isn`t on my side that time. I now decided to share this with you, and maybe, I`ll share what he wrote about what`s it like dating a fashionphile with you too in the following days. Apparently, the man enjoys doing lists and activities that make us realize how much we know and love each other. Hence, the hashtag and blog section #NSOCTuesdays was born. And being the sharer between us two, I get the responsibility of being the poster of all our crazy antics and euphoric shenanigans.

On the other side of the spectrum, I just revamped my blog design!! I`ve been meaning to redesign this for quite a while now but time did not permit until today came and I had a rather slow day at work which left me all bored and browsing sites. I stumbled upon Kylie Jenner`s Tumblr and I knew instantly how I would want my blog to look like. Any thoughts on it? I`d love to hear your feedback!

AGUINALDO SHRINE PHOTO DIARY

For our 10th month last May 6th, my fun-loving boyfriend finally had the idea of visiting a museum. I`ve been bugging him for quite a while now about visiting museums and to be honest, I found it really cute that this was his plan, as opposed to just hanging out at his place.

Our day started by taking a mini bus or a really huge jeep — or a “jeebus” in my terms — to Kawit, Cavite where the Aguinaldo Shrine is located. The cool breeze from the open windows felt really refreshing as I was used to the polluted atmosphere of the metropolitan. He had to run errands though first which was just a couple of blocks away from the shrine, so we had to walk under the sun for a good 15-20 minutes. No fuss though, I love walking and it`s best enjoyed when shared.

Upon arrival at the shrine, I wasn`t expecting it to be deserted. I`ve already been there twice, if I recall correctly, for educational trips in school. Obviously, I was with a lot of people before but then, being alone with your main man in a museum was a new experience. No teacher restricted us to explore, so I really took the chance to look into the exhibit better.
Lo and behold, a hidden medicine cabinet I didn`t know until he told me it exists!
"Look! Old aged Toms.."
The Philippine map

"The Aguinaldo Shrine is the national shrine located in Kawit, Cavite in the Republic of the Philippines, where the independence of the Philippines from Spain was declared on June 12, 1898. To commemorate the event, now known as Araw ng Kalayaan or Independence Day, a national holiday, the Philippine flag is raised here by top government officials on June 12th each year. The house is now a museum.
The shrine is the ancestral home of General Emilio Aguinaldo, the first president of the First Republic of the Philippines."

Our day was great, if you ask me. I`m looking forward to more dates like these.

Have you been to any museums lately? Let me know!! ☺

CHILDREN OF THE DAMNED

Whatever happened for 2 weeks that I wasn`t able to blog?? I couldn`t remember like half of it but I sure was busy. Anyway, I shot this look days before and for the Pulp Summer Slam `14: the longest running annual metal festival in Southeast Asia. It was my third time to go (consecutively, yaaas) and I must say this one`s the most interesting and the one I had most fun in. I went with the best company, so far, and I couldn`t wait to be with the bunch again!

Going back to the outfit, sleeveless tops are your best friends in festivals. I honestly don`t have that much shirts so I got the muscle tee I`m wearing in my boyfriend`s closet for extra comfort and opted to tie a light-weight blazer around my waist because 1.) it looked cute and 2.) I needed some cover up when we travelled home early in the morning. Ha, my friends also had polos on and they were imitating me, tying their polos on their waists and doing the "Jia pose" HAHAHAHA PLS STOP. Snapbacks to beat the heat and I got new iridescent sunnies from Vans just before the day of the festival that I wasn`t able to shoot with it. And congratulations to my Dr. Martens for finally stepping into the Slam grounds!!

How`s your summer, by the way? Have you been to any festivals lately?

You can see the photos from the actual Summer Slam in my Facebook and Twitter

BECAUSE I`M HAPPY

My boyfriend`s mum surprised me today with this chic quilted Kipling tote! Black and gold have a special place in my heart and this is much more special since it`s a gift ♥ I love the fact that I can fit a few magazines in it since I always carry at least one every day. Speaking of reads, I just got Preview Magazine`s April 2014 issue and I am beyond thrilled and happy. They truly know how to speak to every fashion girl`s heart. #iamapreviewgirl and I`m proud of it!

What`s been making you happy lately?

Much love,
Jia

9 MONTH PLAYLIST

9 reasons are not enough because clearly, my fingers, my toes, and all my body parts combined can`t count the reasons why I love you. By this time, I`ve probably told you everything you need to know. Yeah, I know, I say a lot of things. Different words, and yet it all comes down to one solid meaning: I love you. Hell, call me clingy, attached, whatever that describes someone who thinks she can`t live without that special person but I guess that`s really it?? You`re my best friend. People might think it`s absurd that we consider each other`s best friends too and yet I don`t see anything wrong with it. I love you cause I can totally tell you anything, even to the point of me bawling my eyes out and still, you just sit there and listen to every single word I say and embrace me in the warmest of hugs and let me know that you`re just here for me, no matter what. You know when to say the right things at the right time, and even the wrong things to say at the wrong time seem to be just right. The dullest of days become the most glorious and as cheesy as it may sounds, you`re the highlight of my every day.

Maybe some would find it absurd that we celebrate "monthsaries" but couples have their own thing and this is ours. I love you. And here`s a 9-track playlist for the amazing you:

Enjoy this ~*~*~kawaii~*~*~ photo of us

Much love,
Jia

P.S. I`m really proud that you`re starting to pull off your card tricks to strangers now. I told you you can do it!!

THE 1975

Okay, I admit. I am not a fan of The 1975 yet I listen to them. Taking this opportunity to see another band for free (because it`s a mall show) is also my excuse to catch up with my good friends whilst donning an outfit suited for Lothlorien. The crowd was surprisingly massive though. I don`t think I`ve seen a crowd that huge for a mall show before —all 3 floors of the mall was occupied with curious Filipinos and avid fans of the band! I went floor-hopping too alongside Joko to see if anymore of our friends are watching resulting to window shopping because we were frankly getting bored. Speaking of, I love Bershka`s men’s section so much! Their S/S `14 collection is truly one for the books — and absolutely my closet! Our night ended with the usual: taking selfies with friends, taking photos for my outfit, and McDonald`s for dinner. Classic.
